Planning to get a new dog, help?

hello friends, i am debbie from kolkata, i have a gsd dog of 2 yrs age. i was planning to get a new dog, i really like the breed beagle so i wanted a beagle female. however i m told that 80% of beagle females give birth by a c section and that normal delivery is very rare. is it true?

Hi Debbie, I think the reason why dinkar and Samir are saying is there may be accidental mating between the two breeds resulting in mixed breeds puppies which will have no commercial value in the market. Hence, you may find difficult finding homes for puppies.
The best thing for you will perhaps be to get a male Beagle and then get the two neutered. Or If you're interested in raising pups you can bring in female GSD of about same age as your male GSD.
Samir- the breed name will not be germanbeagle but beagloshepherd!

@ Ms Chakrabarty- i did saw the pics of Tintin he looks very much alert and active, my chinu is bit lazy.
As u can support one more dog i would suggest you that u can adopt a dog from local shelter

@ Navjot -- i have seen a cross of doberman and german , i was shocked to core hence prefer to alert people of possible accident

hi friends, plz dont worry. i m responsible and i love dogs so never ever shud such a disaster be allowed. i hav realised that the safest way wud be to get a gsd female only. but i m just curious. is it true all beagles give brth by a c section only? also i hav witnessed many dog deliveries here in kolkata and most of the bitches had a real hard time giving brth and most were pushed oxytocin and other medicines. why is it so? whereas the stray dogs deliver pups in almost no time at all.
