Oh, i also m looking to adopt such lovable pup...as for ur question, i guess once a month would be enough since he would not be going out much often.

Since he would be at home dont even think about bath. What u do is pour 10 drops of savlon in a small bucket of lukewarm water and wash him once a week after 2 months till 5 months. After that give him normal bath once a week in summer and twice a month in winter.

I would not suggest for giving your pet weekly bath in summer - since the natural oil would be lost and it can result into dry skin and flakes. There are powder availalbe in market with fragarence for pets - you can try that out. You can have your pup have a bath once in 45 days since she would remain indoors, also you can go with your gut feel and the pup seems too dirty.

Don't bother bathing your pet till he is 3 months old. Brush him regularly (everyday if possible). If he gets too dirtly, just wipe him down with a cloth dipped in luke warm water. You could add savalon to the water, but savalon is not good for your puppies skin. So avoid savalon too, if possible.

After he is 3 months old, once in 2 or 3 weeks is MORE than sufficient. But, you need to ensure a clean coat. So do not underestimate the need to brush him as regularly as possible. Brushing him can also be a good opportunity to bond with your doggie. I tell my doggie fairy tales when I brush her and sometimes all the things that happened to me during the day. She just loves the interaction with me and hearing my voice, I love the soothing act of brushing her and talking out aloud all my worries. Try it :)
