I have a Pug my problem is that i don't know whether to feed him commercial dog food only?

I have got a pug named Oliver. He's 5 and a half months old. My problem is that i don't know whether to feed him commercial dog food only or also give him home made food. if yes, then plz suggest what home made food can be given to him. Also according to his age, how many times should i feed him and how much?

Commercial food are convenient and have all the nutritions that your pet requires. Royal Canin and Eukanoba are good and have the food depending on the age and breed type. Royal canin there is Mini Junior and in Eukanoba it is Small breed puppy or so. All these food have a brouchure which you can see or read on the pack. They will advise you regarding how much to feed etc depending on the breed type and age etc.

Feed only commercial or home food otherwise the dog will become finicky. Home made there are so many options from veg soup with roti to non veg soup with roti etc. Consult you vet regarding the diet also and also for any vitamin and calcium if required.

Eukanoba should be available in most good pet stores....check out Khan Market, def col etc, and is cheaper than RC.

yes the soup is different for dogs, no salt, just potatoes some green veg boiled properly to a soup and add rotis to it before feeding. But would advise you for manufactured food, specially for a small dog it would not cost so much and your dog will look and feel more healthier.

Plus clean the pugs skin folds with a wet cotton and then with a dry one to avoid skin problems.

some prefer comm pet food while others dont.
petfood is easy to serve and it is healthy.however,u can give him home made too which if given in proper qty can b even healthier.
u can feed him 1 boiled egg for brkfast, no milk, if he likes u can give him little cottage cheese, for lunch & dinner u can feed him rice, chicken(no chkn bones),frenchbean, dodhi, carrot .this is very healthy.non veg part shud b 1/3rd d qty u give him and d rest shud b rice & vegetables.instead of rice u can give him brown rice or also lapsi(i dont know wat its called in eng, but most retailers know it.its made from wheat.its better than rice.
give him seven seas as it is very healthy for dogs.
and provide him proper exercise as pugs tend to become over weight very fast.
d qty depends on how much ur pug is eating.if u think he is having less, dont change d qty immediately next day.let it b for 4 days and only after 4 days increase it to some extent. there shud b an interval of 4 days before increasing the diet qty.
