Thanks for bringing out this question. This has been deliberated by most of the dog owners. First question is responding to name. You will have to try it with treats. First make her sit in front of you and then call her by her name. If she looks at you and establishes an eye contact, reward her with a treat. In case of no eye contact, do not reward her. Training efforts require high level of patience, so she make test it to the fullest extent. I had to do this exercise for 3 days.
Second thing is potty training. You need to fix the meal schedule. Lab pups generally eat thrice a day i.e. morning, noon, and evening. If June does potty immediately after her meals, take her out immediately after her meals. Ensure that she is in a relaxed mood when she has to do potty. My lab is unable to do potty when diverted by other dogs or honking cars. So to begin with, she has to relax and you need to find a suitable place for it. Once she does at that place, every time after the meal take her to that place. Twice or thrice you repeat this activity and you have a potty trained lab.
I hope my solutions help you with your issues.
