How can i make my dog eat and drink by it's own, Please suggest?

Hi, I've a boxer 2 months old and he has just recovered from canine distemper. But now he is not eating anything except honey. Not even drinking water. we are feeding him milk o pet and "best in show. some times yogurt. we have to inject these forcefully as he doesn't eat or drink. All these have been recommended by our vet. He is dehydrated and he pees dark yellow like mustard oil and potty is also very dry like rubber. What i want to confirm is, Is that fine feeding him via syringe. If no, How can i make him eat and drink by it's own ??? Please suggest...

Hi Hitesh

Please do not feed yougurt or milk to your puppy. Even post recovery, pups remain nauseous due to the strong medications that were given to them. You can start by given them fluids through droppers or syringes (https://www.dogspot.in/heres- h ow-you-can-administer-medicine s-to-your-dog/). Your vet will be in a better position to help you with the schedule of feeding liquids. Gradually you can proceed to boiled liquid food.

Do connect with your vet for a complete understanding of what fluids can be given to your pup. If your pup has developed signs of pnuemonia, we would suggest complete medical care for your pooch. Please do not administer food or medicine without consulting a veterinarian.

We wish your pup a speedy recovery!

Yes !! You are correct. we have consulted to a different vet and he told us that he is suffering from Pnuemonia.
Could you please tell me what is the fatal percentage in Pnuemonia ?

And one more thing: Vet has told us that canine distemper has 3 stages. 1st > Critical, that he has successfully passes and 2nd Standing stage > pups not recovered, gets lazy and doesn't eat properly. 3rd > pup starts recovering speedly. IS THAT CORRECT ???

Kindly reply..
