Planning to get a Cocker Spaniel, please help?

Me and my husband are planning to get a Cocker Spaniel puppy. Both of us love dogs and therefore would like to know everything for its comfort and well being before we bring him home.I am on a break from work and would be resuming work from December and the latest by January. My concern is can he stay alone after say he is 6 months old till i come back from work?Feeding him before and taking him for walks would be managed. Also how do I make him used to the fact that even if i go away for sometime we will always come back for him.I really don't want him to be upset. Please help.

Hi Anagha, I would ask you to reconsider your decision unless you are prepared to invest in a doggy sitter. Dogs are pack creatures and don't do well when left alone.

Hi Anagha, Coker Spaniels are excellent dogs, but they are very active too, as all hunting dogs, mainly when they are puppy; while adults they need to receive two lengthy daily walks to be healthy and burn their energy, perhaps if you can keep your puppy entertain while you are not at home with some toys, he will be ok. Here there is more information about Cocker Spaniels that will help you decide about this breed https://
