I see no harm or problem. Moderate climate is the best for most breeds.

I assume climate in North East is less hotter than other states. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is drool factor. French Mastiff drool a lot. Other thing is like all other large breeds, french mastiff leave 8-9 years. So if you are okwith that, there should be no problem.
