hi cane corso i a large mastiff breed n ur feeding him the right food but i will suggest u to feed him professional dog food as it is a top dog breeds as it is 3 months old right now i will suggest u to feed him puppy large breed of pedigree which have protein 32 % and do remember not to oeverfeed him as it will have quick growth spurts feed him 4 times a day in small portions a day the quantity that is suggested on the packet of the dog food.n u do need to give him training for obedience n then guard training so that u can control its aggresiion.

I'd suggest you to keep him under commercial diet for atleast six months. There are diets prepared especially for the specific needs of the growing puppies. These diets meet all special diets of growing puppies. There's no harm in feeding home-cooked food but home-cooked food may not offer complete balanced diet for growing puppies. You can choose from any of these diets available in the market- Eukanuba ( puppy starter ), Canobites, Royal Canine, Hills prescriptive diets. All these are good.
While I advocate commercial diets for the initial phase, I don't advocate keeping the dogs on commercial diets all their lives. The reality is these packed diets have preservatives which can cause problems in the latter phase of the pet. So, feed packed food for first 6-8 months to ensure they get all necessary nutrients and then gradually switch to home-cooked food.

Regarding your query on guarding, this breed is considered as a good guarding dog.http://en.wikipedia.org/wi ki/Cane_Corso There's is a misconception among us on a watch dog and a guard dog. People use them as one and the other but they are actually different. A watch dog can alert his master about any potential threat to the owner or his property. ALL DOGS HAVE THIS ABILITY. You may have seen a pet dog barking on the gate of the house. This a doing a duty of a watch dog. The watch dog will alarm his owner about any suspicious activity in his surroundings. The watch dog may be able to scare the intruder off but he may not able to CONFRONT him face to face.
This ability of confronting the intruder is the ability of guarding. A guard dog can not only scare an intruder off but can also ( if required ) potentially attack him. Breeds like German Shepherd, Rotweiller, DobermannPinscher, etc are renowned all over the world fo their great guarding ability. The guard training is called schutzhund training. Watch is video on schutzhund training which will help you understand even better-http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=Tfm3rQspCEY
If you have any other enquiry, don't hesitate to ask.
