What is the point of becoming a judge if you are not going to share your knowledge with other dog lovers?

The KCI takes the responsibility to choose and test people who are suitable for the post of Judges for dog shows arranged by KCI. My question to all including judges and the KCI is that why is it that most judges dont want to share their knowledge with dog owners regarding dog showing, breeding or general information about dog keeping. I personally have contacted judges via emails, FB etc and have got no response. What is the point of becoming a judge if you are not going to share your knowledge with other dog lovers. Is it that they are scared of what people will say if they say or give wrong advise. Or is it that they want the so called dog game to stay with them and their family and friends only so that no one else can excel in it. Its sad. No wonder the dog game is not as it used to be, nor does it attract the type of people who earlier played a very important role in it. Personal views of all would be nice.

Hi Dinkar,
Hope you get your answer from the judges, The reason wh yI have contacted you is that I am also in the same situation as you but in a different way. i am interested in opening a kennel & breeding centre in Mumbai.
I have an agricultural land where I can have my farmhouse
My question is that
1. Will i need to get a commercial licence so that i can do the business legally or i dont.
2. How do I register my kennel and breeding centre with KCI.

Just FYI I am not getting into it to make money I am a dog lover and since childhood we always had dogs of different breed.

Will appreciate your reply. Thanks

You need to speak to your CA and contact KCI directly.

It does not seem that you are doing this not to make money.

You can only enjoy a particular breed when it stays with you and you spend a lot of time with it daily. Only then so can truely enjoy the breed and its traits. When you have too many breeds or dogs it cannot be done.

All The best.

It is really disappointing that judges dont share their knowledge. I have also seen that one particular dog won best breed of the show was rejected by the judge of another show. I hope that every judge will have their own standards to judge the dog apart from the universal standards. Just one small question to you, Do we have agility/obedience dog show in India? Do KCI conduct such kind of shows?

Not really. No KCI does not, although they are trying to I think.
