Firstly, the dog should never be fed Milk. Dogs are Lactose intolerant. You can feed yogurt instead of milk. Secondly, refusing to eat is the first sign of the dog being not well. This may be due to the milk that you are feeding is causing stomach upset or it may also be due to mild fever. In either case, you MUST show your dog to the Veterinary.

I agree with you as my vet advised against milk from the very beginning and followed the dahi diet for about a year plus for my neopolitan mastiff. but suddenly she gave up eating anything in which dahi was mixed. to get her to eat I gave her milk and she relished it like anything now I mix little portion of curd with milk and she is eating well. I want to know will it harm her

Generally most dogs do tend to develop an intolerance to milk after they are weaned because they stop producing enzymes needed to digest milk but this is NOT applicable to every dog. Some dogs continue to enjoy milk well into their old age.

As has been pointed out, there may be other reasons for a dog to go off food for more than a day which would best be determined by taking the dog to a vet.

milk can be given to dogs but it should be given with some portion of water mixed in it...adding water in the milk decrease the level of lactose in it(milk)...bcoz cow produce milk for her offspring so its obvious that it would have higher level of lactose so if milk is added with some water then it can be digested by dogs...ratio should be 1:1....50 % milk then 50 % water.....or you can feed ur dog goat milk bcoz as compared to cows milk goat milk has lower lactose level....

Not eating "full" is not a problem and can happen but if it is going off food completely for more than a day then a vet visit is in order.

In the wild, animals get to eat only once in every few days and not daily and regularly. However due to domestication, dogs have become accustomed to regular meals at regular times and can learn to want food exactly at particular times as they thrive on predictability. However, occasionally it appears that they do tend to fall back on their ancestral roots and may skip a meal or gorge themselves. If it happens more than once or every few days, since pups are prone to intestinal parasites and infections, a visit to a vet is advisable especially if the pup is looking dull.
