Can someone clarify my doubts and give me a little insight as to which one to follow?

I am new to the K9 world and I am stuck between traditional knowledge and whats available on net. Can someone clarify my doubts and give me a little insight as to which one to follow? 1. Dogs are intolerant to lactose in the Cow/Buffalo milk, yet most of the people have had their dogs purely on Milk & Chapati. So what should one feed their dogs? 2. Water should be freely available for dogs at all times, giving only water to pups makes their belly bloat. It doesn't makes sense I know, but still? 3. Feeding curd to dog helps him gain height. Is it true or just a myth? 4. What is the best method to rid your pups/dogs of ticks/fleas and to avoid getting infested yourself too? These are the questions which I am most confused about right now, will add more in time.

Hi. As far as my lab concerns he is very much allergic to cow/buffalo milk. He is very good with curd. I dont give him milk in pure form. Its good with curd, paneer etc. Roti & vegetables are ok.

Hi,
1) I have been feeding my 6 year old male pariah milk quite often ever since i got him and personally i haven't seen any symptoms of intolerance. But that might also be due to the fact that he's a Pariah.
2)As far as pups go, they'll eat anything and how ever much you give them even if they eat so much so as to not be able to walk even. Just regulate instinctively for puppies.. a few licks of the water after his meal and repeat every two to three hours.
3)no idea never tried
4)The best method is prevention. If your dog lives outside then make sure you clean his sheet/rug/ground well. Keep the general area free from mud and vegetation. Also feed him a balanced diet so his immune system can automatically rid his body of ecto and endo parasites.
As far as what to feed your dog goes you have such a variety of options. I would rate them personally from experience according to effectiveness:
a) Raw Meaty Bones
b) Cooked meat (DO not cook the bones ever)
c) Kibble
d) Milk and Chapati

Hope i helped. If anyone feels I am wrong please let me know as Im always open to learn and correct myself.
Thanks
