Does someone have some solutions to stop my dog habit of eating mud?

Our mix lab puppy who is only 5 months old has suddenly got into the habit of eating mud from the ground. We gave this female puppy calcuium but still no improvement inspite of vet's advice. Does someone have some solutions to stop this habit of eating mud. She also got a bad habit of urinating inspite of several corrections. Sometime the puppy eats on some days but neglects a lot on few days. Regards Celes

They generally eat soil to instinctively correct mineral deficiencies (as do human children). However if you have already tried to supplement her food with calcium and still the habit persists I think the easiest thing would be to avoid letting her outside near the mud and also deworm her regularly.
As for the urination you have to be regular with taking her out at the same time each morning, afternoon and evening. It will help to contact and take help from a trainer.

just want to add to the above that clean the place properly where she urinates, as dogs are attracted to use the same place again and again. The best is also to take her out after meals and bring her back after she has relieved herself, give her frequent walks and then slowly reduce the frequency so that she can build up bladder control

You can also add some mineral supplements with her food.

use vinegar to wash the area it will remove the urine smell, soak a newspaper with your dog urine and put it where you want the dog to urinate.
