Should calcium supplement added to the pregnant bitch diet?

SHOULD CALCIUM SUPPLIMENT SHOULD BE ADDED TO PREGNANT BITCH'S DIET??? . . Well my bitch is pregnant my vet says calcium suppliment to be added in her diet but i have been surfing net since she got mated and proffesionals says big NO for calcium to pregnant dam . . What should i do pls advice. .

May be your Vet as recommended it taking into view your dog's specific needs.

if u r giving her home made food, u should add calcium. if she eats branded dog food for pregnant or lactating bitches or for puppies - don't give calcium.

depends upon health condition.Did you do the chem test for Ca etc before mating? what was the Ca and Phos level?
