Can anything be done to help his poor mother & her owner?

There is one very large bhutia female dog in my locality. She delivered 3 pups 2 days ago. But unfortunately all of them died shortly after birth. The bitch became very protective of her dead pups & didnt allow anybody including her owner (an old lady) to approach her or her pups. Everybody tried everything to remove the dead pups as they started to smell horribly but nothing worked. After almost 2 days she left her den to probably drink some water & her dead pups could be removed & buried. But as soon as she found that her pups were gone she became very aggressive & chased everybody out of the garden. She is also constantly crying loudly. Can anything be done to help his poor mother & her owner? She is otherwise a very sweet girl & was not at all aggressive.

I feel all the pups were removed together because of which she is suddenly missing her pups. If one at a time were removed it may have been better. I feel getting her a puppy would help as she might thing it to be hers and nurse it also. Or try giving her a stuff toy puppy. It may help as I have seen a lot of dairy chaps use stuffed skin etc when the calf dies. No harm giving it a try.

All the pups had to be removed as they started to decompose.Yes we can certainly try with a stuffed toy pup. I am not sure whether she will accept any other pup. I dont want to put a lil pup's life in risk as she is behaving very aggressively now.

Please dont get around the lady as she might feel agitated. Giver her some time to recover from her shock...she is a mother anyways...Please dont allow people to crowd around and raise noises...;LETS BE HUMANS...IM SAD FOR HER!!

We r all very sad for her. But now she has adopted two of her sister's pups & a toy pup. She is eating now & allowing her owner to attend her & the pups. Hope she recovers soon.

Happy to hear that she is now better. Since she has adopted 2 of her sister's pups, after some time remove the toy pup. If she looks too distressed then put it back after little while and gradually increase the length of the time it is removed for, so that in the end she wud not miss it at all.
