What is this double handling in dog shows?

What is this double handling in dog shows, Ihave a adult bitch and apuppy where I am going to take them for the forth coming shows, can I handle both of them in the ring?

You may do it with prior information & permission from the Judge/ring stewart at the show ring. It is not double handling.

As per my knowledge it is two ppl trying to show one dog. What generally happens is that there is one person in the ring with the dog and another from outside the ring tries to get the attention of the dog so that it looks alert etc. It is not allowed but in a lot of shows one is seeing it happen without really anyone stopping it.
