WHich breeds do you like is more important. Why do you want a dog from Bangkok. You have some excellent dogs here, why dont you get from here.

This first thing is to decide which breed you want, remember its a decision which will live with you fro more than 10 years!

I completely agree with gaurav........it is better to have a good specimen dog, which are available in India, plus you can see both parents in person. India has most breeds available. I personally would prefer a good looking dog/ good specimen rather than just a tag on a dog that it is imported.

Places like Thailand can have some good dogs, but at the same time has a lot of very bad breeders/ agents/ etc. So be careful.

In deciding the dog breed, please keep in mind the dogs requirements and your living conditions and whether or not you and your to be dog breed are compatible.

All The Best

Dont think there are any nice ones there.....but you can see. Keep in mind that your dog is still a pup and will grow bigger and require more food and care. I would advise you to first keep him for atleast 2 yrs before thinking of another, as you should be doing a lot of training etc with him and if you get another pup, the first one may suffer in terms of training etc. These are huge dogs and should be well trained and socilaised....I know of St Bernards that have become killers like CUJO. and then its a pain and liability to have one.

It would be heart breaking to see pedigree dogs being abandoned as some owners do not realise the needs of their pets and later on are unable to take care of them and put them up for adoption or to be put down if it does not find a good home.

Importing a dog is not that easy as far as I have seen and a lot of formalities need to be done. May be you can build contacts now if you find a good st. bernard breeder there and then go back in a year or so and get the pup later on.
