both sheds equally but when you consider golden retriever you need to spend lot of time in grooming but lab has short coat so time spend on grooming less than GR. if your dog gets wet, GR needs time to dry but lab has water proof coat so it wont take much time to dry. In general both are nice dogs but GR is little bit calmer than lab.
