I saw a rottweiler which was too difficult to manage even by the vet, I saw it at the vet's clinic. I think they are not aggressive if properly trained. Without proper training and socialisation, they are difficult. So I think if you lack time or are not sure of its training and care, it is not a good idea to go for this breed.

This breed is not meant for everyone. Only experienced dog owners with large breeds should keep them.

They are a wonderful breed but have special requirements like all other breeds.

Its the environment and lack of knowledge of a breed that makes it a good dog or bad not the breed. I have been keeping and showing Rottweilers for about 20 yrs.

It is never the dog, nor the breed of dog, but the owner. With that said, you must evaluate yourself. The question should be can you own a rott? Do you have what it takes to train and demand obedience from a rott? Would you know what to train for? Do you understand the breed? Do you know any friends with rotts? have you been to any kennels that breed Rotts? Have you done your homework? If you have experience with large aggresive and powerful dogs, then you may be a candidate for this breed. I kind of feel like, if you have to ask, then maybe the breed is not for you? I would suggest if you like a large breed and if you want to be safe and protect your family, you may wish to concider a mean looking dog that is nice and has a loving temperament. Look up the breed Alsatian Shepalute. Lois

Hi, I have a 2 year old female rott. I knew wht thy could do and knowing tht I wanted 1. My rott is frendly 2 children and she is so playfull. I stay in apt. and she is fine. Its all depends on how u raise yur dog. I gv my dog lots of love and effection. If u want 1 and if u cannt handle a male rott u should get a female.
