Akanksha, in summers it's very inevitable for dogs to become host of ticks/fleas. Ticks/fleas are active in warm climate. In Winters, they are at hibernation mode. You can follow the below precautionary measures:
1) Make sure your dog doesn't get in touch with dogs who are infected with fleas/ticks, making sure he does frequent a lot in grassy and filthy places.
2) Brush your dog daily with a good de-shedding brush.
3) You can tie an anti-tick collar around the neck .They work very effectively, they work all the time. Moreover, they are cost effective- One collar can be used for 4-6 months.
