Ranchi Inhuman Circus

25 Apr 2010 | by | Posted in: Wag Brag

Last week my friend Dr.Ahuja called me to draw my attention towards an extreme cruel matter. There is a circus running at birsa munda ground named as 'Samrat Circus'. The owner of the circus announced that whoever bring stray dogs to their circus will get 200 per adult dog and 50 rupees per puppy. I enquired and found they using dogs and puppies to feed Tigers, Lions, Crocodiles, e.t.c Thereafter I taken some steps : Its nearly impossible to make understand the poor villagers what they doing is wrong, reversely they threat me with life threat. I talked to circus owner and ask him to stop such cruel thing or otherwise he will face legal issues, he follow me and stop taking puppies, dogs. But in the next day 50 villagers come to my home and threat me what I had done is not good and stopping them to earn money and even told me that If I make stop the circus owner now they will kill the stray dogs and puppies because they bites their childrens , create nuisance and they don't have enough money to medicate themselves. I made a tough decision and told them in place of killing dogs/puppies or dropping them to circus, drop them to my adoption care center and I will give them money. Iam taking care of 67 stray dogs in my rescue center now and increasing. I had enough space for 150 dogs atleast but what after that. What will be the solution of such kind of situations. I would like to get advice in this regard and solutions.

I am a little puzzled here - aren't circuses now banned from keeping lions and tigers? Then how come this circus has got these animals?

Ankur Tandon
@ Vikram ya i completely agree with you.But this news is from Ranchi ie in Bihar so anything can happen.not a big deal.

Ranchi is in Jharkhand. Ya lions and Tigers are banned but not much effect on here. No one here care about those things, everyone is now the shareholder of the loose system.
Anyway a good news that circus packed up and total of 88 dogs rescued. On the action circus owner liable of paying Rs 50000 for abusing animals and using illiterate/uncivilized villagers (so called adiwasis).
