SOMETHING IN HIS EYES (CONTINUES.....)

24 Dec 2009 | by Aditya Collins | Posted in: Wag News

In my previous blog.......i mentioned how I adopted a Lab female "MAGGI" .......

Today....I am telling this story ....with all you guys.....Who love...adore...adopt.....Dogs .....but due to some reasons sometimes Reject them too.....

February 2009 , it was pleasent Sunday 15th a day after valentine day I suddenly got across with a breeder and adopted A Cute little GSD Pup almost 40 days old.....I Brought that puppy home.....with all my love and care I started up with him............He slept in my Bed for cozy sleep....

Things were all fine until one day I realized that "TUFFY" (I named him) was not from an original pedigree.........I was bit disappointed but carried up with him........................

getting more knowledge about GSD & my intense research on the breed TUFFY was now just an ordinary dog for me with not much expectations from him...........I bought some pedigreed GSD and Labradors after him.....

When I started giving training to all my dogs I noticed that TUFFY was the one who least responded to my commands .....that was a big disappointment for me .....secondly despite of  all medications and good food he was not building up as original GSD's of his age.

I TOOK THAT BLOODY DECISION THAT DAY ......AND CURSE MYSELF FOR   THAT EVERY MOMENT.....

I gave away TUFFY for free adoption .......One financially sound party came forward....(This was only I wanted a good home for him to Continue)............I Myself  took him to their place.....Those people showed their affection and concern for him that made me happy.

After giving up TUFFY one day i visited him after few weeks ...........to my SSHOCK he was not in good shape.........I then Kept calling their neighbours to get the REAL STATUS .................I Was reported that TUFFY was beaten by them ...........Though in entire 9 months of his age I never had touched him ....................I CALLED THE PARTY TO SEND BACK MY 'TUFFY'.....They said that he had ran away somewhere I searched for Him.................AND ONE DAY I GOT A NEWS THAT 'TUFFY' passed away.......due to tied up in rains in open...

From that very day I FIND MYSELF GUILTY........AGAINST 'TUFFY' and am looking for the way by which I can comfort myself from that GUILT.................

PLS SUGGEST WHAT SHOULD I DO TO BRING REST TO HIS SOUL........

This is one point why dogs should not be given FREE of cost. Problem is Indians (most) still treat dogs as a status symbol. You will find it common that guys asking for a dangerous dog who would protect them and for this they would surely chain the dog. I too had a bitter experience and have stopped giving dogs for adoption unless i know them very well. I lost one of my best rescue in such manner.

I have only one consol that you had a previous birth debt on Tuffy which you cleared in this life by giving him shelter at your home. Yes internally and emotionally you will never be able to forgive yourself. But time heals. All the best.
