Street Dog Watch Association To Hold Pet Adoption Event For Homeless Animals [News]

Looking at the state of animal welfare, where homeless animals suffer from starvation and disease and are exposed to the unforgiving climate there is a real need of improving their current situation in the country. Read Article On - Transforming a Rescue Dog

To serve this purpose, the Street Dog Watch Association, which is based in Kerala, will be organizing a pet adoption drive in Thiruvananthapuram on June 1. The event will be co-partnered by animal welfare organisations People for Animals and Raksha. Local breeds of pups and kittens will be put up for adoption. Anti rabies vaccinations and sterilization will be offered totally free of cost.

The organizers believe that the objective of this drive is to restrict the population rise of homeless animals and also to find them loving shelters. They want promote animal birth control and vaccination of dogs so as to prevent the increase of rabies. They are against buying of exotic animals and wish to encourage adoption of local breeds of dogs and cats.

The Street Dog Watch Association works with various animal groups to promote animal birth control. They also organise anti rabies vaccination programs and educational events. The timings will be from 10 am to 2 pm at Sea Face Hotel, Beach Road, Kovalam.
