Labradors are considered to be one of the most active dogs amongst the dog breeds. However, obesity is commonly seen in them as well. This could happen due to lack of exercise and bad diet. But, if we are good dog parents and learn to care for the pup, they would live longer. After all, love and care is what they need. Toby, the Labrador turned 19 recently and is healthy and kicking!

Being a regular walker, Toby loves to walk twice a day, which is counted amongst the best exercise for your pup. Apart from regular exercise, it is also necessary to provide a balanced meal. Toby was given 2 meals a day, breakfast and a meal in the evening. Since the time Toby was 6 months old, he has been following the same routine. There isn’t a single doubt when one says that key to a long and healthy life is a balanced diet, be it for humans or for dogs.

Just like Toby’s owner, you need to take care of the medication that you give to your furball. Always opt for natural treatments rather than antibiotics, until it’s the last resort.

Labradors are usually active, but with the age, they are prone to certain health issues. As a pup, one needs to take care of their correct joint and bone development. This could be done through apt nutrition and save them from harming themselves. To ensure that your lab, for that matter any other dog breed, take care of their elbows and hips from a very early age. This would definitely help you to skip vet visits.

Also, don’t let your Lab sleep all day. It is completely in your hand to keep your pooch young all through their life. Toby walked and walked proudly to a graceful old age. He gladly thrashed obesity with a right amount of exercise and meals.

It’s your duty to keep your pup healthy. Keep them young by taking care of them health-wise and showering all the love and affection they need. We wish a long and fit life for Toby. Three Cheers to Him!
