Anyone can be a mother. It just takes a special person to be a mom

Here's the heartwarming story of Mitali Salvi ,a dog trainer by profession & Pantu her canine daughter describing their Bow Wow bond with Team

''Let’s go back 6 years from now. Ali and I had just started dating and he was dropping me to my hostel on a rainy night. Suddenly he stopped the car and said "Mitu I think I saw someone hitting a puppy" I immediately got out of the car and ran to check. A shopkeeper was shooing this little stray puppy away. And the pup was just trying to get away from the rain and hence was entering the shop. After asking him if he'd seen the mother or siblings we found out that she had been outside his shop for over 2 days. We picked up the puppy and decided to put her up for adoption (since I was living in a hostel and Ali still lived with his parents). I sneaked her into my room in my backpack so the guards wouldn't see her. Little did I know this little one would change my life completely.

We tried hard to find a home but days went by and the sneaking in and out got harder. We then decided we needed to name her. Ali always wanted a dog named Chaddi so we decided to stick to a quirky piece of clothing. ‘Bikini’ is what we settled on. The next day I came back from college opened my room door whistling to call her and she was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly I see this tiny lil head pop out of my roommate's laundry basket covered in underwear and bras running towards me. Our little Panty pretty much named herself at that point. Growing up we had a lot of dogs at home so I started to train Panty in my own ways for toilet training and a few tricks.

One day her vet saw me with her and insisted I do a basic dog psychology course and try my hand at training dogs since he thought I was a natural. I did the course and started training part time in my second year of college and the rest was history. Panty became my little assistant. I got more and more clients through word of mouth and till date I’ve trained up to 200 dogs in Mumbai and Panty has starred in commercials too. We soon got an apartment together and then moved in with Ali.

It's been 6 years to this day and when it came to us getting married my in-laws wanted to have the wedding in Bali. We both refused to get married without her which meant we had to have the wedding in India and Planet Hollywood was sweet enough to entertain our request.

Their wedding photographers The Wedding Nama ensured that Pantu was captured in every moment of the wedding. And here goes the breathtaking pictures by the talented team

Rings hidden in cakes, surprise trips, lavish dinners, sunset beach walks – there are many ways couples have proposed to each other over the years. But here’s a proposal video that makes it seem like everything is going to the dogs – literally so. Mitali Salvi and Ali Shakeer’s ‘Save the Date’ video features her beloved dog Pantu playing a very important part – alongside other cute canines – in one of the most important moments of her life. She trained Pantu to get the wedding rings and all her outfits matched her's and Ali's and were made from the same material as her Lehengas.

Those eyes! The first 2days of the wedding she kept running around the property and exploring. The morning of the pheras all the doors were open and she had all the opportunities to run out, but she sat by my side the entire time while I got ready with those puppy dog eyes.

My mehndi design also had MitAli with an actually panty (underwear) in it. My mehendi artist was definitely cracking up at my crazy requests.

Panty has been the reason I found my dream profession. She has become a daughter to me and Ali and we treat her as our little child. We love to obsess over her and get so much more love in return. She made us a family way before we started our own. Most of all, she's been patient with me through my years of struggle and been my rock.

I am a very proud mother to have such an amazing daughter, and with her every day feels like Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother's Day to all dog moms of the world.
