Senior shelter dogs need to be loved and cared for just as much as the little puppies. Unfortunately, with age they become less attractive and thus remain invisible in the eyes of many.

A professional dog groomer named Mark Imhof decided to change this situation. He decided to visit Animal Care Centers to give shelter dogs some nice free haircuts, so that they can finally find forever homes easily. It really worked, because when something is lovely and beautiful, one just wants to take it home immediately!

Old and shaggy dogs had little chance of finding their forever homes.

Hence, inspired by his fiancée, Mark thought of becoming a dog groomer to help sennior shelter dogs regain their confidence.

The result was undeniably impressive! Look at these before and after shots! What a difference a simple haircut can make!

Mark's fiancée saw the joy he had when he interacted with animals, and suggested giving shelter dogs a helping hand.

They both remembered how dirty and unkempt their shelter dog was before they adopted him.

The first dog from a shelter to whom Mark gave a haircut was on the ’unadoptable list', because he had behavior issues.

Mark felt that if someone was to mat his hair and pull it every time he moved his head, he would probably have the same behavior issues, too!

So he worked through it and the dog with behavior-issues became the most adorable pet!

Mark could see positive transformations in almost all the dogs, and that was so uplifting.

And he knew that they will passon that love ahead to their future owners and families.
