We all must have seen pups, beagles and furballs strolling in the parks and roads with their proud owners early morning every day. But who would have thought that a proud pet lover would take his pup for a "real walk" that would last for years and not just a few minutes every morning! An American man has set out on an "Epic Dog Walk", trekking around the world accompanied by his four-legged best friend! Tom Turcich, who is 27 years old found the pup while travelling through the southern US over a year ago. Seeing the grave condition of his once “mange-ridden street pup”, he adopted him and the two have been together ever since.

Sniffing here and there, the cute little pup’s been on the olfactory adventure of a lifetime. “We walk every mile together and with the right paperwork crossing borders with her has been a breeze,” he wrote on Reddit. Tom who lives in New Jersey, started on an adventurous “five-year, seven-continent trek” last April and has already made it to South America. His Facebook page, “The World Walk” has more than 5000 followers, who are living his exciting experience through the amazing pictures he posts there.

“Since leaving the States I’ve had a hell of an adventure,” he wrote during his second Reddit “Ask Me Anything” about the trip. “I’ve had to learn Spanish, climb the terrible mountains of Guatemala, sprint through the deserts of Honduras, and sleep in the Costa Rican rain forest.”He continued, “There have been a few run-ins, but besides a shiv to the neck in Panama City nothing too serious. Mostly, I’m amazed how generous people are. I’m brought in by strangers far more often than I ever imagined.”

Turcich regularly posts pictures of his epic journey and his adorable Savannah too. “Day 473. They’re not her favorite things to wear, but when the wind picks up and the sand starts flying, the ‘doggles’ are going on,” he wrote Wednesday with a pic of Savannah wearing goggles, with a sandy desert in the background.

Day 392. Not a great day yesterday, my mind and body just weren't up to it, only managed 10 miles. But today's a new day and I'm not giving in easily.

Savannah only drinks from the purest mountain springs.

Passing away of one of his childhood friends when she was just 17, enlightened Tom about the real in-depth meaning of life. He has been planning the trip ever since which materialised on finding his adorable cute pup! “Her death reordered my understanding of the world. I suddenly saw life as something fragile and fleeting,” he said, adding that he went to college and worked hard to save as much money as possible to be able to afford the adventure. But he got sponsored by Philadelphia Sign, a Jersey-based sign distributor, a month before he departed for the trip and they now give him “enough money to see this thing through.” The company also donates money for each mile he walks to a scholarship in honor of his late friend.

How thrilling it is to be with one's lovable, "Walkable" dog who can walk miles and miles together with his master! This energetic Savannah definitely has some real stuff in him to get him going for the epic long journey around the world. Indeed the lucky mascot he is!
